Getting Started
Set up LiveSunday and run your first real-time caption and translation session.
This guide walks you through everything from signing up to showing live captions on your screens and in your broadcast. It takes about 10 minutes.
What you'll need
- A LiveSunday account — sign up at livesunday.ai
- A stable internet connection
- An audio source — microphone, line-in, or phone (no special hardware required)
- Optionally: streaming or presentation software for on-screen captions (see Integrate captions)
Setup walkthrough
Create your church and get your congregation link
After signing up, complete the onboarding to create your church or organization. Once set up:
- Go to Sharing in your dashboard.
- Copy your congregation link — e.g.
https://livesunday.ai/j/your-church.
This is the link your attendees will use. They open it in any browser, choose their language, and see live captions. No app download, no account required.
Tip
Set up your source language (what's spoken from the stage) and add translation languages under Settings before going live.
Share the link with your congregation
Distribute your congregation link however works best for your church:
- QR code — display it on-screen before service or in the bulletin
- Text / messaging — share the link directly in your group chat
- Signage — print or display a short URL or QR code near seating
Attendees tap the link, see a language picker, and are immediately connected. No sign-up, no app.
Connect audio and start streaming
- In your dashboard, open the stream section.
- Select your audio input — browser microphone, line-in, or use the LiveSunday mobile app to stream from a phone near the speaker.
- Click Start stream. LiveSunday will begin transcribing in real time and translating into any languages you've added.
- Keep the browser tab open and audio streaming for the duration of your service.
Keep the tab active
Your browser must stay open and the audio input active while streaming. Switching away or letting the screen lock may interrupt the stream depending on your device.
Listeners who open your congregation link will see captions appear within about 1.5 seconds of the spoken word.
Show captions on screen or in your stream
To display captions on a projector, monitor, or live broadcast, use a caption overlay link:
- In your dashboard, go to Captions.
- Click Create caption link — name it, choose a language and style, then save.
- Copy the overlay URL — e.g.
https://livesunday.ai/overlay/your-link-id. - Paste that URL into your presentation or streaming software as a browser source or web view.
The overlay is transparent — only the caption text renders, so it floats cleanly over your video or slides.
End the session
When your service concludes, click Stop stream in the dashboard. Captions on attendee devices will disappear and the overlay will go blank.
You can review the session's transcript (where enabled) in Session history for up to 30 days.
